ABOUT DINGYI

When Dingyi was a baby, he often was sick. At the age of three, his father decided to start teaching him kungfu in order to keep his body fit. Once he started practicing, his body grew strong and he no longer became sick easily. Although he first learned traditional kungfu from his dad, he very quickly expanded his horizons. Over the next 17 years, he learned Mingjian (folk), Buddhist, Daoist, and Chinese Medicine kungfu from various teachers.

 

In addition to learning the physical aspects of kungfu, Dingyi learned the culture and old philosophy behind the kungfu. He believes that this is more important than the physical aspect, and he makes sure to relay this knowledge to his students. Dingyi's dream is to use kungfu to help people improve their bodies and to use Chinese culture and philosophy to help people understand how to have a good life. 

 

Dingyi has been teaching foreigners for over twelve years. He can teach in Chinese and English, and has experience teaching people of all ages from more than ten countries. Dingyi welcomes anyone who is interested to come learn!
