WHAT IS KUNGFU?

Kungfu is your body. Kungfu is your mind. Kungfu is philosophy. Kungfu is culture. Kungfu is nature. Kungfu is life.

Kungfu is more than a form of martial arts. Kungfu is a way of living your life. Through kungfu, you learn to understand your body and its needs: you become aware of your body with its muscles, joints, bones and tendons. Your body, heart, brain and mind are interconnected, so you must learn how to use them all. Kungfu teaches you this, and thus teaches you how to keep your balance in life. It starts from paying attention to your body during exercise and transfers to your mind, discipline, willpower and attitude.

As a result, everything that you learn in kungfu serves as a guideline for how to live your life healthily.

Daoist

Daoist focuses on the yin yang- finding the balance in everything and learning how to focus on nature to improve one's thoughts.

Mingjian (Traditional)

Mingjian kungfu has many types, but what unifies them is that they were passed down through generations: each father taught his son (and nobody else), and thus the kungfu was preserved.

TYPES OF KUNGFU

Zhongyi (Chinese Medicine)

Chinese medicine focuses on the body's energy paths. It helps us understand our body and how to help the blood flow. Many of the moves imitate animals.

Buddhist

Buddhist monks use many various activities in order to help their body. This includes yoga, meditation, martial arts and many other forms. The most famous of these are the Shaolin Monks.
